Spiral Staircase Feltrinelli Foundation Herzog & De Meuron

Construction of a helicoidal staircase for the New Feltrinelli Foundation Headquarters in Porta Volta, Milan.

The project was realised by the prestigious architecture studio Herzog & De Meuron, winners of the Pritzker Prize, and famous all over the world for their work on the aesthetic definition of their surfaces.

Famous projects include the Allianz Arena in Munich, Tate Modern in London, National Stadium in Beijing, De Young Memorial Museum in San Francisco, Caixa forum in Madrid.

The staircase, with an iron structure, was built in blocks to facilitate transport and make assembly on site easier. It was inserted from above when the building was still uncovered. Final cladding in plaster and wood.
